Art is an integral component of a liberal arts education. Students need not become proficient in the history of art, but minimally, they should be afforded an art-friendly environment in which to study and work. Visual literacy is a valuable tool that reaps dividends over a lifetime. Those who would exchange a work of public art for an unrelated purpose disrespect the intent of the donor and diminish the quality of life for students while they are on campus and in the future. This has been a massive undertaking which has come together as planned despite a brief and hectic installation timeframe. If the act of constructing the Communication with the Cosmos Building can bring you closer to Cosmic Energy itself, then everyone involved with this exhibition can expect greater intuition, confidence and creativity for years to come.
