An Unfamiliar Scene

For those of you who are frequent visitors to the Tufts University Art Gallery, you know that we usually stray far from the “typical” white-walled gallery aesthetic. Building large, tilting structures inside the Gallery? Sure! Covering the floor with plastic and making a three-inch deep reflecting pool? Of course!

Well, we’ve returned to our roots with the current show in the Koppelman Gallery: Highlights of the Dorothy M. Skinner and John S. Cook Bequest and Gift, up through May 18th. As if the title didn’t give away its old-school feeling! Here’s another image:

It’s quite nice to see the Koppelman Gallery open and lit and full of 2-D work. Be sure to come by and check it out - it won’t be this “traditional” for long!
