There will be activities for all visitors, including guided tours, a kids’ table, and food and drink! While you’re there, view the summer exhibition and take our brand new guided cell tour!

Summer Exhibition opens tonight

To pique your interest, this year we have five artists with five installations. To top it off, it’s our fifth year of programming AND today is June 5! The show’s title is “5×5”.
Come by to meet the artists, enjoy the Ken Field Trio’s jazz music, and have some food and drink!
Galleries closed for installation

We re-open on June 5 at 5:30 pm with a reception for our Annual Juried Summer Exhibition, “5×5”, in the Tisch Gallery. The Koppelman Gallery remains closed throughout the summer.
Summer hours, beginning Friday, June 6, are Wednesday – Sunday, 12-5pm. Office hours remain Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Last MFA weekend!
May 16, 2008 at 12:03 am | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a commentThis weekend, May 17-18, is the last one for this MFA exhibition. We will close our doors on Sunday at 5 pm. Please be aware that commencement is also Sunday, May 18, so parking is very limited on campus.
We will be closed Monday, May 19 through Wednesday, June 4 in preparation for our summer exhibition. The Fifth Annual Summer Juried Exhibition opens Thursday, June 5 at 5:30 pm with a public opening reception.
An Unfamiliar Scene

For those of you who are frequent visitors to the Tufts University Art Gallery, you know that we usually stray far from the “typical” white-walled gallery aesthetic. Building large, tilting structures inside the Gallery? Sure! Covering the floor with plastic and making a three-inch deep reflecting pool? Of course!
Well, we’ve returned to our roots with the current show in the Koppelman Gallery: Highlights of the Dorothy M. Skinner and John S. Cook Bequest and Gift, up through May 18th. As if the title didn’t give away its old-school feeling! Here’s another image:
It’s quite nice to see the Koppelman Gallery open and lit and full of 2-D work. Be sure to come by and check it out – it won’t be this “traditional” for long!

Our April MFA Thesis Show opens on Thursday, April 10. Come join the Gallery and current thesis candidates for an opening reception from 5:30-8:30 pm in the Gallery. Free food and drink!
The artists’ talk will be on April 17 from 6-7:30 pm. As always, this event is free and open to the public.

Curator’s Talk, Tonight @ 6:30

Judy was also the curator of Pattern Language: Clothing as Communicator, at the Tufts Gallery in 2005.
